Worldeater Vs Not Common: A Split Label Sampler (released 2006)

Ripping hardcore and tough talking grindcore, Worldeater Records and Not Common Records have unleashed a flesh melting beast of a release, meant to baptise all of you in fire and brimstone. You get a healthy dose of speed, metal, punk, hardcore and well, strange blasts of outrageously loud music that will not disappoint even the staunchest of metalheads among us. The compilation features twenty-six tracks from both labels, each featuring their flagship bands and unreleased material from new bands. I guess I find this as a welcoming opener to the extreme sounds presented by the bands and labels. It's a good introduction, because you get all kinds of flavors from The Sarcastics female fronted trash punk to Menstrual Vampire's heavy metal meet screamo, Kevorkians Angels attempt at mimicing Anal cunt, through Syzslak's heavy grinding of old school riffs... It's really all here! There is such a well spread out feel to this disc, that ordinarily makes some compilations hard to listen to all the way through. On this disc, you will not run int boredom, in fact each track is an adventure into a darker realmoof thrashing and screaming that makes for something fulfilling. Included in the many tracks are not only studio efforts and demos, but a few even offer up live tracks. Bitchslicer's "Necroanalingus" played live is pretty interesting, in that it's no more than a handful of seconds long, and reminds you right a way of the classic band SOD. In fact, several of the bands on here remind me of SOD, I miss those guys! Anyway, metalheads, thrashers and the crust punks out there will take great pleasure in this release and they should, it's fucking excellent! -MG |
