So here it is, the latest and greatest compilation from Org Records and Organ Fanzine, based out of the UK. I suppose I should go into all 16 of the tracks just so you know the brilliance that Org Records has brought together. The disc varies all over the rock and roll map, but there are a few gems that stand out as truely appealling in my mind. First up would be The Sick, real punk rockers out of SF, CA that you have no doubt heard on other comps; Everything Must Go, featured on one of the more recent Org Rec comps with their "I Hate Music" single; When Reason Sleeps rocks out with their variation on an emo theme with "Words Can Kill"; The Kramers have a suprisingly long song for a bunch of crazy punk rockers...kinda sounds like old Pistols stuff; and Midasuno just your standard four minute rock song that will have your head bobbing in no time. Org has packed a lot into this album, with so many styles of music that its hard to decide the real stand outs, but I'm a punker and I treasure the one's mentioned above. I figure this is an anthology of sorts, you know highlights from past releases? Either way, its a helluva mix of tunes that is well worth the $10 you'd pay for it through Org. Check it out and get a dose of music from artist that you may or may not have heard of, it worth it...trust me, Org won't disappoint you with their selections for this effort. -MG |
