So when I saw this disc arrive in the mail, I immeadiately thought, "Wow, twenty-six tracks! This must be another one of those hardcore bands that play thirty second songs." How very wrong I was! With a name like Vaginal Discharge, I assumed this was going to be brutal and loud, but as it turns out... Vaginal Discharge is two guys! One sings, the other plays acoustic guitar. Yup. Most of the twenty-six tracks float around the two minute mark, some under, some over, but all of the songs are hilarious. From the opener "Bring Me The HEad Of Bono" to "Cops Suck" to "Give Me A Rim Job", these two guys aren't afraid to address any subject and make a killer slow jam to it. I would image that if the band went under a different moniker they'd get more shows in coffee shops until the patron and owners started listening to the words! Vaginal Discharge remind me of a two-piece Guttermouth, slowed waaaaay down, but with the same seventh grade mentality. These guys are simply here to humor you, and you shouldn't read too far into the songs, especially "Crack Whores Rule" and "Fat Farm Orgy". But perhaps the best song on the disc is the last "Everybody Scores", a great song to wind down the disc (there is a bonus track that isn't listed, so I'm not counting it). Finally it dawned on me how great the band's name really is, can you imagine your friend running up to you to say, "Dude, I just got the new Vaginal Discharge!" Hilarity will ensue! -MG |
