At first, I thought, "Wow! These guys sound just like DOA!" Then teh metalicious guitar licks kicked in and I said, "Wait a minute. This isn't DOA, more nu-metal, but better." Then the band began to sing. They talked about my mom, poop, crossdressing, the devil and then it hit me.... Imagine NoFX writing songs for Godsmack, performed by DOA, but with an agenda of having nothing but good times. The whole album is that way! Every lyric in every track is there to make you smile or at least take notice that Urinal Puck Ministries are there to entertain you and apparently themselves! This is more than evident on the first track "Bow To The Ministry", and then again on "Slave To The Puck" both songs are about the band, or as much as I could understand they were. "Twisted Tales From The Fallopian Tube" has fourteen tracks on it, guaranteed to make you smile and even chant along in some instances, most certainly on the chorus of the easily amusing song "Poop". Out of all the songs, only one eclipses the three minute mark, which to me is great! Get me moving, get me excited and get me in a good mood in two minutes and I think I have a new best friend! How do you say an album is a feel-good disc without coming across as pansy? I think I just did! Anyway, check out the Urinal Puck Ministries for a batch of good ole happy-jackin' punk rock! -MG |
