No Solution (released 2006)

Punk Core is one of two record labels that I absolutely adore! There isn't anything that Punk Core puts out that I don't listen to over and over! Simply put, I'm in love with Punk Core's roster...every band, every member, every song, every producer! The Scarred's new album, "No Solution" only solidifies my seemingly unhealthy worship of the band's premier label. The Scarred, if you don't know, are the reincarnation of the Clash, with a bit of the Adolescents sprinkled in for just a bit of fuck yeah punk n roll. Solid. Every track on "No Solution" is simply solid. From the sing-along lyrics of the poppy(as they get), hip laid back vibe of "Drone," to the poisonous shouts on "Battlefield," on through to "Rotting" and it's flurry of guitar fury, you get everything that made the Clash great. A bit political, a bit humorous, a touch hardline, yet all of it is approachable punk rock that doesn't frighten you. it's rather pleasurable, cause I found myself singing at teh top of my lungs sitting traffic one day. Every track on "No Solution" has it's one part that you can shout out loud to, and the best part, getting the funny stares from the people in the next car over. I only wish that I reviewed this album earlier in the summer, cause it's easily a summer album to be played at all of your backyard parties. The album features twelve tracks of (like I said before) solid punk rock that you cannot deny is infectious and full of twisted energy that will have any group of punk rockers off their feet and chanting along, especially to "I Don't Wanna"... Fuck yeah! -MG |
