So we got the radio promo for this EP, it's one song. I guess that's ok...I hope it's the best song by the band. You know what, turns out this is a really killer jam! I'm actually very surprised with the band's effort. The song turns out to be a mix of indie, pop and emo...but it comes out better than many of you punk snobs would think. This is actually an amazing dose of songwriting and passion that I haven't heard since A Day In The Life, who later became Hawthorne Heights. Yeah, that's what I'd say about this song, it's passion laced, you can just feel it coursing over you! Another thing about the track that actually caught me off guard, is the fact that the single song is over five minutes long! And you don't even realize it! The song sucks you into it so quickly, that you have no chance to even notice that you've been nodding your head and tapping your feet for the better part of five minutes. What other emo-punk-indie band can you think of that's done that to you in a while? I review a lot of records, so I'm sure I could think of a few, but for the rest of you out there, this is a great song, and here's to hoping the rest of the EP turned out as well. -MG |
