The Phenoms are out of control, and it's fucking great! From the first track to the last, the band blasts away at your face and tears the underlying structure to threads with their brnad of rock n roll that resembles, oh so much... Where to start? It's part rockabilly, part punk, part garage, part insane, part rock and everything that you want them to be! The band doesn't settle for anything but the gas pedal mashed all the way to the floor with a blindfold on in reverse! The energy on this album is incomprehensible! The guitars rip through and through, the vocals could fit into any hardcore punk act or even a dirty blues band, the drums and bass foudnation that everything builds itself off of, simply incredibly well put together rock and roll here. Having played with New Bomb Turks and Reverend Horton Heat, you can tell the band were already fans of those band prior to any chance to share the stage. If the intensity shown by the band on this album is any indication of their live show, I am making a trip to their hometown of Chicago tonight. This is something you do not want to miss. This album spills over with excitement and power on every blues-laced, punk fused track that is nothing short of amazing rock n roll. If given the chance, seek out The Phenoms and check out a live show, the disc won't be a disappointment before or after the event! -MG |
