New Ruins (released 2004)
Lujo Records - www.lujorecords.com
The new album from The Kidcrash is an eclectic mix of indie rock and emo-pop that blends incredibly well together. With nine tracks clocking in at around forty-five minutes, you get a full dosage of the creativity that makes the band stand apart from their contempories. Specifically I'm thinking that The Kidcrash could easily fit into the same crop as Project Rocket, Fall Out Boy and Park. The album is thoroughly appealling with the band's unassuming slow tempo mixed with heavy melodic and pulsing rhythms. The Kidcrash isn't the usual sound of the bands that you would hear from Lujo Records, which makes them really stand out well. Typically Lujo deals with a lot of noisier and off-center rock sounds: Suffering And The Hideous Thieves for instance. The Kidcrash deliver a very intriguing blend of popular power pop meets indie meets solid rock, that is very well documented on "New Ruins". This release is for fans of the new flavor of emo-pop-punk, The Kidcrash will be a great addition to your music collection. -MG |
