Lo-fi rockers The Hexxers are the shit! Mixing country, rock, surf and psychobilly together into a blinding fury of tinny guitars and dancable drum beats, The Hexxers bring a long desired excitement to an otherwise dulling genre. Front man Rockin' Ryan, shreiks out the vocals on every track with an authority that is both frightening and captivating. I don't think the Hexxers would be the same without him up there running on about his seed, bones, gravestones or taking his girl back home. With the band including just about every minor guitar laden genre into their blend, this disc is a must have for fans of garage rock, psychobilly and hot rod music. "Freaks With The Savage Beat" is right! This disc could be the soundtrack for zombie surfers out on the prowl for new brains to devour! The disc feature thirteen tracks of firery basement 60s rock with bucket-fulls of attitude, humor and rockabilly dance beats. If there's one track that defines the band, it's gotta be "Knockin' On Gravestones". It shows the band's dark side, their musical madness and their ability to write a catchy song that will get you excited about hanging out in a graveyard. "Freaks With The Savage Beat" is a stellar realease that is easily in my top ten for the year 2005! -MG |
