Bad Blood (released 2005)
Self Produced
Finally a new Charismatics disc to rock out to!! I really dig these guys, because you always know that you're in store for a great blast of punk rock and rock punk that is simply perfect! The Charismatics, largely undiscovered it seems, offer us a disc of only six tracks, but it must be an EP that will lead us to a new full length album. On "Bad Blood", The Charismatics have finally burst forth out of a shell that they seemed to have wrapped themselves up in... It's not as though they meant this purposely, but in the past I felt the music and the band really could have cut loose a bit, and ultimately that would have made them reach the level they have on this disc sooner. I'm not complaining, I really enjoy the previous efforts from the band, and I know of several other music officionados that feel the same way. So anyway, back to the matter at hand, "Bad Blood" is amazing! The Charismatics come across with a sound that's is very similar to Strung Out, Down By Law and a few of the Fat Wreckords label bands. That's a great thing too! Now it's a matter of time before you really start hearing about the Charismatics! This disc is the one that's going to really put the band out there and up on the pedastal that they so rightly own! Each and every track on here is a radio single just waiting it's turn to bust out into the mainstream and make the Charismatics a punk rock household name. Don't miss out on pickign up this disc at all costs! -MG
