I have been listening to this album for the better part of two days! That's saying something seeing as though I don't get to listen to much music during the day...the new job keeps me on the phone or away from my desk. Needless to say, I have made time to stick around and rock out with Tension Wire. The band is essentially one person, Frank Ciampi. He plays everyting, except when out touring when he invites friends and contemporaries to join him on the road. Tension Wire plays punk inspired rock, that occasionally flirts with pop and drifts into a rockabilly sound almost. Its very unusual to hear such a swing from bands. Most tend to stay on the sure path of what works, but Frank (read Tension Wire) really work well on several levels of differing genres. The disc has twelve songs, all of which bounce and move the listener from driving fast to dancing chaoticly to down right wanting to kick someone's ass. "Rips, Punctures, Tears & Fractures" is really an all-around disc, full of great tunes that will certainly enlighten, inspire and entertain many people from all realms of the punk world. This is a disc not to be missed for fans of the Pseudo Heroes, or any band that can create more than one sound on the same disc, and pulling it off like a jock does a cheeleader's uniform. -MG
