Stand & Fight is a southern California straightedge hardcore band that plays hardcore in the vein of classic east coast style, more specifically the Boston type. There are fourteen tracks of brutal unity chants and assembly anthems on here, brought to you in just over twenty minutes. Stand & Fight are strongly bound to their messages of pride, unity and standing up for you and your rights, which is clearly evidenced on each and every track. With titles like "Fight Back", "I Won't Break" and "Stand Tall", you can easily understand what the band is all about. Stand & Fight almost sounds like a recruiter for the straightedge nation on "Together We Win"! I've never fully understood the straightedge life myself, but one thing I have noticed is that a lot of straightedge these days comes in the form of heavy, aggressive merciless hardcore.... Perhaps all these people need is a drink to unwind? "Together We Win" is a pretty good release, a real strong unity album that doesn't necessarily make you feel like uniting, but more along the lines of destorying the pit and grabbing another beer before doing so. -MG |
