The five-piece Stalin's War plays a solid rock meets hardcore, fronted by a female vocalist. All of this combines into a thorough thrill ride for all of you looking for the one band that can combine all that is great about hardcore and metal rock. With twelve tracks that vary from strictly metal to driving hardcore, you cannot and will not be disappointed by what Stalin's War can offer to you. The female vocals really add a nice kick to everything, especially inbetween the screaming and shouting on the hardcore variety of songs. With the female vocals, I think a lot of people may draw a conclusion that Stalin's War sounds a lot like Evanescence (is that how you spell it, I'm not a fan, so I don't know). Stalin's War is a hell of a lot truer to the sound than that other female fronted band, you don't get the lollipop metal music, you get solid belting tunes that will have you thrashing in the pit, rather than putting lighters in the air. "Rebirth From Flames" is an excellent album, that should see Stalin's War becoming one of the preeminent bands in the rock fused hardcore genre. -MG |
