A Lot To Live (released 2005)

The latest release from Columbus, Ohio's punk rockers Rookie is nothing short of a power punk wet dream! The boys have managed to harness their energetic lives shows right onto a disc that doesn't disappoint from the first track "Rap Star" to the last "Good At Heart". That energy really makes this disc come together and makes it an extremely great listen! The band slows things down at points on this disc, showing a bit of a softer side, but they still know what separates them from other pop rockers...the talent and passion showcased in their music. A few of the tracks on this eleven song set have been released on the band's previous EP. Not that that is a bad thing, its just that you don't get as many new songs as you might have expected. However, the band continues to sound like East Bay punk, especially like The Mr. T Experience. I really can't get over how much they remind me of MTX! "A Lot To Live" is a great disc that will take Rookie far, and you shouldn't be left in the dust if you're a fan of upbeat punk rock! -MG
