The official full-length debut release from Rise And Shine is nothing short of a power punk spectacular! I have to admit, I am in love with this band! Every song that I have ever heard from Rise And Shine has been an amazing combination of power punk, indie rock and organized chaos. With "The Anthems Of Summer" all of my dreams (and surely yours) have come true. The band has collected twelve of their best tracks including "Work, In Progress", "Breaker, Breaker", "The Accident Will" and the crowd favorite "The Things You've Saved Can't Be Replaced" on this amazing disc. Rise And Shine have a signature sound, that cannot be repeated. Yes, there are several in the genre that could matchup... Falloutboy, Punchline, or even Project Rocket. But their mixture of screams, shouts, cries and yelps combined with the moody guitars only further infuse the band's passion of their own soundtrack. Something this reviewer believes the other bands are sorely lacking. That signature sound, with their fanatical vocals, fluctuates from aggressive to mellow and back again in only a few beats, all the while maintaining credibility, dancability and exhilaration. Rise And Shine are truly one of the most amazing bands from Ohio, or the mid-west for that matter, and with this release a larger audience will come to appreciate the talent and will be able to experience the genius that makes this band great! "The Anthems Of Summer" is a do not miss disc, a prize that belongs in everyone's collection. -MG |
