Red Animal War's new album "Polizida" is something I haven't heard in a long time...a truly rock album. And to top it off, it's really good! The band is brooding at times, then loud and aggressive, its a nice mix of all that is best about good modern rock music. The lyrics on each track are nothing to write home about, but they do seem to contain a message or story that I have yet to figure out. But the lyrics aren't the real draw on the album... What gets me is the fascinating guitar riffs and grooving bass lines on here. Most of the album, when casually listening, just grooves you...you get into a nice zoned out place...at least I did. "Polizida" seems like a nice escape, really moody and mellowing. I really dig the album, but there were times when I really wanted to hear the band cut loose and trash it out a bit. Nonetheless, a solid release of incredibly good rock music. -MG
