Outbreak brings things fast and hard on their new album "You Make Us Sick". And when I say fast, I mean lightning fast. The first eleven tracks break off into your skull in under ten minutes! In fact, the band realized this after they recorded them and then went back into the studio to round out the disc with four more songs...bringing the total running time up to a 'respectable' fifteen minutes for fifteen tracks! Aside from this bizarre little problem of duration, this disc is solid! Each track describes something that seemingly upsets the band, either chumps, punks, liars, cheater or thieves, the band in general is just pissed off. I suppose that helps drive the fact that the songs are generally around a minute long (or shorter). The band wants to tell you 'fuck off' in as quick and straight-forward a manner as possible. Outbreak is pretty brutal stuff, not meant for the weak-kneed of the pack. Do you want a good soundtrack for your next scrap? "You Make Us Sick" would be at the top of my list for when I'm kicking some jack's head in! Think I'm wrong, try me...I'll just push play and you're done! -MG |
