So this is a kick ass release... As I understand it, this disc is only available online from the band and is meant as thanks for twenty years of support for the Sweden-based outfit Mogel. The music on the album is fast, abrasive, sometime metallic, sometimes punk, but altogether kick ass! I may not know Swedish, but I'm quickly learning (thanks to online translators), but the band manages to play the upbeat, pub rock meets skate rock that are just short bursts of brotherhood chant-able oi! I love oi! and street rock, and Mogel gime exactly the dosage I need! With the majority of the tracks under two minutes you get blast after blast of fist pumping punk n roll, that is just good damn music. The best part about this album is the price though, who can say no to free. mean seriously, you've gotta go get this album, then get the remaining balance of the band's prolific career. The band's website, www.mogelpunk.se, is in Swedish, but searching Google for translators, I found over 100,000 pages of them, you'll be able to translate just about everything you need to know about Mogel. Fans of fast paced metal punk rock mixed with oi!, especially skaters out there that are looking for something fast to shred to, should navigate their computer over to the band's site and download this disc. One note, the disc is a downloadable file from the band's site, as I said. It's one file...a self extracting zip file. I was able to download it for a view of what to expect without any issue. If you have any problems, contact the band, as they are very friendly and should be able to help in some way. I wouldn't try to download the file if you are behind a corporate firewall... The network police were knoking on my cubi-hell wall, shortly after the download finished. You have been warned. Perhaps the band should have made them all mp3s for download... -MG |
