The more and more that I listen to this album, the more and more I think I'm listening to Rise Against. I mean the similarity is incredible. Both Los and Rise Against play a hardcore, rock, punk mix that transcends the lines of each of the genres. The appeal from all sides of the rock gamut are there in full force with Los and Rise Against, and I'm one of the throngs running to bands like these. They're filling the boundry between good hardcore rock and great hardcore punk. Los comes to us from Sweden, they've been putting out music for a couple of years, but this is their debut album. It's unfortunate that the band has waited four years since their inception to grace us with a disc, cause this album is really great. Unfortunately, there are only eight tracks on it, but the disc manages to squeeze over the thirty-six minute mark with ease...mainly due to a nine minute track at the end. In any case, Los' sound is unique, but it has been done before and sadly I think they may always be compared to bands like Rise Against. I think they can stand out on their own and still have a healthy and successful career playing their brand of hardcore rock punk, but again it may be in the shadow of others that that success breeds. This is a great release though and fans of, yes, Rise Against will thoroughly enjoy. -MG
