This is pretty impressive for a one man, er, woman show. Solo artist LKN played every instrument, sang every word, including back up vocals, wrote the lyrics and music, everything! LKN is highly praised in many publications for her amazing drumming ability, all of which is self taught, even her guitar handiwork is self taught through multiple listens of SRV and Van Halen. Unfortunately, none of those bands come through in her work. Postulate I is something of a noise pop album, that I found to be extremely long and boring. Pretty much every track is a slow droning dirge that produces so little excitement in me, that I often found myself having to hit the repeat button, because I zoned out and didn't even hear the music. Now I'm not here to drag this album through the mud, but it is something more along the lines of relaxation music, something that would play in the background of elevator rides. It's just too slow and melancholy for my tastes, others may found absolute brilliance in this...which I find hard to accept, but nonetheless the body of work as a whole is impressive coming from one person's mind. I cannot dispute the determination of LKN in creating this record, most tracks are very intricate and deliberate, but none of it makes any sense to me. Postulate I is not a punk rock album, and really wouldn't fit well into anything punk rock, aside from the fact that LKN once played in a punk band, there is no connection.
