For The Good Of The Nation (released 2006)
Self Produced
Coming across as a protest punk rock band, K-9 Chaos sounds very much like Bouncing Souls, but with a grittier edge, meaner disposition and complaints about everthing from capitalism to goverment officials. K-9 Chaos, based in Sweden, really should have little to complain about if you ask me... Sweden is one of the most free countries on the planet, but I'm sure it too still has some problem from which many people feel as though they should make a stand against or on. K-9 Chaos strikes me as having something to say, although I don't think that Swedish politics necessarily fit well into the issues facing many Americans. So maybe the band's message could get lost, when fed to American audiences? Maybe, maybe not. Regardless of the message, the substance that carries the politically charged lyrics, and the melodies tht accompany them are what makes the band really stand out. Something quite different than the recent invasion of Swedish garage sounds, K-9 Chaos play the same sound as mentioned before in the vein of Bouncing Souls. You can sing along to all of the tracks, none of which are so abrasive that you are forced to listen, rather the band wants you to participate in their message. Thusly, the band has written tracks that are inviting and attractive to many varieties of punk rockers... Be you protest punks, oi champions, or just old skate/bmx punks, K-9 Chaos are right up your alley with their infectious blend of East Coast melodies and West Coast lyrics. For K-9 Chaos, "For The Good Of The Nation" is an amazing debut, featuring nine of the band's best tracks that will have you shouting at the top of your lungs, in support of K-9 Chaos and the message of political influenced punk rock. -MG |
