This ten track album is fucking nuts! This has got to be the most brutal, intimidating album I have ever heard. Non-stop thunderous drumming, I swear I have no idea how someone can play so fast. The bass lines hit you repeatedly like a ton of bricks dropped from a plane. The vocals are throat shredding to the point of mere bone being left to sing with. The guitars flay you up and down, peeling away your skin only to throw you into a peroxide bath. This is fucking insanely heavy, a blast of crushingly hardcore metal that I have never know before. The fivesome from Canada, yeah Canadians did this, are onto their second album with the release of "Minus The Herd". Ther debut was incredibly well recieved and has set them on a pedastal when it comes to the hardcore metal scene. Some have compared this to Dillinger Escape Plan and some form of free jazz, ok sure, but it's also comparable to complete and total anarchy lassoed together with some tremendously powerful fury. Ion Dissonance comes across on this album as absolutely maniacal musicial geniuses, yeah that's it. How else can you explain that such a demonic and heavily murderous batch of tunes could garner such a following. These guys have got a formula to capture crazy, and they're doing it well. Fans of crust, hardcore and metal will adore this album, as for me, I'm fucking scared of it. -MG
