Eighteen tracks, twenty minutes. For The Worse comes quick so listen up. The band has many important issues to address and you have to be on your toes to receive the whole message. From a war on the war on drugs to a woman's right to choose to Catholic priests to growing up on TV, For The Worse has a lot to discuss. Some of it is borderline comedy too: like the anti-supervisor tune "You Put The SS in Boss" and the great line from "Patriot For A Day": "Showing your love for America through bottle rockets & hamburgers". Classic! The coolest part of all on here, is that most of the songs are thrown at you in about a minute! How the band manages to get its point across in a such a quick and concise manner is one of the things that makes this disc great! While the band is certainly a hardcore band with the driving and crushing sound they produce, the lyrics and messages are more an everyman kinda punk. The stories presented by For The Worse on "The Chaos Continues" sounds like a hardcore band singing the songs written by a street punk band! While I see a lot of hardcore bands these days are evolving into 'cause-heads', For The Worse just tells it how it is, allowing you to decide. "The Chaos Continues" is a great release from the band and Bridge 9, continuing the proud tradition of Boston hardcore, and one that any fan of solid hardcore music should not miss! -MG |
