The reunited Foreign Legion have another stellar album on their hands with the released of "What Goes Around Comes Around". Produced by the legendary Mick Jones, of Clash fame, the album delivers the same sound that the band has been known for it's entire career, high energy street punk, that takes the best of what's old and blends some new feeling into it. I think with Mick Jones at the controls for this album, you get a feeling of the Clash has interjected some life into the band and the album. While Foreign Legion is not the Clash, they come from about the same era in the punk history book. And thusly, the sound is close to the sound of more upbeat Clash songs, don't get me wrong Foreign Legion has their own sound and they play it very well. "What Goes Around Comes Around" features eleven tracks of street-based punk rock that, again is reminescent of the Clash, but also Cock Sparrer... This is beer swilling music, sing-along brotherhood anthems, and basically good ole rock n roll. There isn't a single track on here that doesn't move you, whether through tapping your toes, bouncing in your seat, or shouting out the chorus right along with the band. The album is great through and through, with stand out tracks like "Wake Up", "My Town" and "Where's Johnny Gone". Every track has it's own story, it's own memorable lyrics, and the energy that fits well into today's punk rock music. While the band is dated, they have the same energy of bands a quarter their age!
