Fastlane sounds like a band that would fit in well with the pop punk emo rock crowd. The band is somewhere inbetween a Fall Out Boy and 46 Short. I really dig what they are playing, its not too sickly sweet with pop, and it has enough tart in the guitars to make it a dancable and upbeat disc. There are eleven tracks on the disc and each of them are a rocker, while a couple are slower, but they still remain loud and charging. Fastlane, from the UK, has played with some of the most well known power punk bands from there, and you can really hear the influence some of those bands have given to Fastlane. I could really see hearing some of these songs being played on popular radio, they're catchy, but still rocking out. Fastlane have got something going with this disc, and I really think that skate punks, emo kids and Hot Topic wannabe's will really pick up what they are putting down. This is for fans of solid power punk, like the Ataris, Plain White Ts and Punchline. -MG |
