| First stop on the trial ride |
| After about 15 minutes, we stopped for our first break. The instructors took the time to tell us a little more abou tour sleds and where we were going next. We found out that in order to get your sled going, it isn't a gradual increase in speed... You're suppose to gun these things and fire right out of the blocks! And trust us, we did that, the accelaration of thes machines is incredible. You are up to speed in a matter of seconds. So this is pretty much the only picture from the first half of the ride. Yeah, pretty sad, but you can't take your hands off of these machines even for a second. Following the end of this ride, which included Bre flipping her sled, another girl literally burying her sled to the seat and one person deciding to abandon her sled to ride with the guide, we got a 20 minute break. After the break, we wer off to do a 2 hour trail ride out to a remote cabin on the ranch, buried deep in the mountains. This was going to be very interesting, especially after we were warned that the trails were beginning to ice up and that speed and braking would not be in our favor...huh? With that in mind, we headed out... Bre wants to say something about this picture: "The aliens have landed on earth. Beware!" Matt says: "I swear that's the largest helmet they had!" |
