| The end of our ride |
| Snowmobiling The snowmobiling activities were divided into two segments. First was a training ride. It lasted about an hour and a half, and was meant to get you acquainted with the machine. Bre and Matt had never been snowmobiling on their own, meaning they had never controlled one. So we got out and tore up some trails withour guides. After some getting used to, snowmobiling is a lot of fun, but an extreme workout. The part of the whole thing that hurt the worst was your thumb! The throttle is something that you find yourself constantly ramping up and down, and fatigue of your hand happens quickly. Aside from that the ride is a lot of fun, especially when you get comfortable enough to drop the hammer. At points BRe and Matt had their sleds up to 60 MPH! Hitting small bumps and jumps is always exciting, more something even better is an actual trail ride. We got through our practice session with relative ease. Relative, because BRe actually flipped or rolled her sled onto herself! We were following the guide, in single file, when he took all of us through some deep snow and a hard left turn around a tree. Bre's sled got caught in the deep stuff, and she gunned the throttele only to find herself sinking! The sled got caught, she leaned the wrong way and the machine came down on her. She escaped from the sled by slithering away from it in the snow, but it was a bit scary, and she remained vigilant when going through deep powder. Following that initial ride, we got out on the trail. Now it requires two hands to operate a snowmobile, so the pictures in this section are only from when we stopped, so keep that in mind as you look through these images. We'll give you more details about each ride, in the following pages... Alright, let's get to it. Click next to get started! |
