| Map of Bridger Bowl |
| Bridger Bowl We got the opportunity to ski on a mountain. Now where we're from there are hills, about 350 feet tall that we are used to skiing on. Here in Montana place like that don't exist. We we had in front of us was a mountain that was over 8,700 feet tall. Neither one of us had ever been on anything so big, but we weren't scared...more excited! One of our dreams as a part time skier and snowboarder was to go out West to a great resort and ski on snow as opposed to the ice that were used to on the East coast. Fortunately Bridger Bowl provided us with such an opportunity! Once we arrived at the resort, about an hour drive from the ranch, we got suited up and fitted with our boots, boards and skis. The next bit was awesome... When we went out to the slopes, we thought they'd just cut us loose and say have a good time...nope... They broke us out into groups of skill level and skiers versus snowboards, then provided us with guides! Initially it was great, the guides were very friendly, experienced and gave a lot of insight about the resort. Matt's guide informed him that the resort, Bridger Bowl, was actually a non-profit enterprise. The resort is actually leased space from the US Forest Service and that the resort and Forest Service work together to mainatin as natural environment as possible. Pretty cool... Bre's guide was fantastic too. He took her and her group all over the mountain during the first four hours of the day. There are a lot of pictures of her from all over the mountain. She had a great time with her guide and was shown some of the best view and even saw the future areas of the resort firsthand. Matt, on the other hand, lost his group and guide after the first run. You gotta understand, Matt is slow on the slopes. He prefers to just take it easy using the whole trail to navigate his way down the mountain, apparently his group and guide weren't interested in that. He ended up spending most of the morning exploring the resort himself, no worries though he had a great time doing it. By midafternoon, Bre and Matt caught up with each other and went out and rode a couple of trails together. It was a lot of fun because of the views, and the company, but they really challenged each other to ride some of the more exciting slopes. Alright enough of this babble, let's get to the pictures!
