It began as a joke to own a radio station that presented punk rock music to the people who wanted more. Upon further examination, we came to realize that it was possible. This DIY radio station came together after years of work, research, and sweat. Upon the realization that radio emanating from Columbus, Ohio, wasn't going to provide the listenership we wished to reach, we decided to go for a global audience. With plenty of thought, development, and eureka moments, it was realized that the best way to reach the punk movement worldwide was through the Internet. Bringing together what is punk at one site became our dream. We have what we feel is a comprehensive list of companies, scenes, and musicians that help to keep the punk movement in motion. Music is what we love, and is what we want to share with the worldwide punk population. Corporate radio wasn't supplying the growing demand, thus the Hussieskunk was born.

Advertisers and sponsors were selected for their products and how they represent and apply to the punk community and listeners of punk music. We do not solicit from companies we feel have nothing to do with the punk way of life. Your help is appreciated and will not be taken for granted, for you provide the lifeblood for this movement. There are several web sites providing content and information, but few if any, provide the latest in news, music, product, lifestyle, and thought in one comprehensive streaming media site. We offer all this, using the Internet and the latest in streaming media technology.

The Hussieskunk is a station that doesn't cross over but stays true to punk ideals and the DIY ethic. We provide a live 24/7 broadcast, complete with DJs, special interest shows, and news from around the world of punk. In doing so, we do not limit any one part of the globe of the punk experience. We will provide the music that listeners want, as well as highlighting the lifestyles, sports, news, and products that are most important to our listeners.
